Why Althea exists.
I’m Cameron Scheckler — a Wisconsin-licensed cosmetologist with six years behind the chair in the Milwaukee area. Somewhere in those years, I noticed my clients kept saying the same thing: their salon hour was “the only hour of the week that’s just for me.”
One hour. That never sat right with me. So I decided to build a place that gives you more than an hour — a third space between home and work, where you can slow down, be taken care of, and stay as long as you like. A place where the people who care for you also know your name.
The name comes from the Greek “althaino” — to heal. The idea comes from the ancient bathhouses, where care and community were the same thing. Our mission is simple: make luxury wellness accessible and sustainable for every member of our community.
